Heavy-Duty Radiator Shop Equipment & Industrial Cleaning Systems

The Tanks-A-Lot story begins in the early 1970s during a Southern California drought and a Marine Corps contract. Tom Sutherland and his father, Lawrence “Larry” Sutherland, owned a chain of radiator and A/C shops in Orange County. As the drought worsened, local fire departments began warning radiator shops about excessive water usage, so the Sutherlands built their first water recovery system. That innovation marked the beginning of Tanks-A-Lot.

By 1973, Tanks-A-Lot was manufacturing boil outs, test tanks, flush booths, sandblast cabinets, radiator driers, water recovery systems, and shop ventilation. With demand rising, the company sold its radiator shops to focus entirely on designing and building industry-leading equipment for radiator service professionals.

We’ve stayed intentionally small so we can remain hands-on, flexible, and responsive to the unique needs of our customers. Our team is constantly in the field, working with real shop owners to learn what makes their workflow faster and more efficient. That feedback drives our innovation — leading to new equipment that cuts down on time, labor, and cost.

Today, Tanks-A-Lot also operates under the Enviromotive name, our DBA focused on Cummins-approved DPF and diesel emissions cleaning systems. It’s the same team, the same quality, and the same commitment to supporting hardworking shops across the country.
